Through contracts with the New York State OPWDD, Sprout offers programs for people with developmental disabilities living in New York City. These are family support programs and participants must reside with family members.
The New York City Day and Evening Program
This program offers educational, recreational & cultural activities on weekday evenings and weekends. All participants must be 16 years of age or older residing within the boroughs of Brooklyn, Manhattan and Queens. Event times, prices and locations vary. Transportation is not included and the trips meet in the community.
The Brooklyn & Manhattan School Holiday Vacation Programs
This program provides vacations for young adults 14-21 with developmental disabilities residing within the boroughs of Brooklyn and Manhattan. We offer 5-day (Monday through Friday) vacations during the NYC Public School Winter and Spring breaks. The vacations are at no cost to the participants. Transportation is provided with a central meeting location in each respective borough.
The Staten Island Program
This program is a 5-day (Monday – Friday) camp vacation for persons 16 years of age and older residing within the borough of Staten Island. The vacation takes place in the Catskills area of Upstate New York during a five-day period in August of each year. Transportation is provided with a central meeting location on Staten Island.
Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Queens Weekend Program
This program provides vacations for adults 22 and older, with developmental disabilities, residing within the boroughs of Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Queens. We offer Friday – Sunday weekend vacations with a central meeting location in each respective borough. The vacations are at no cost to the participants or family, and transportation is provided.
